What does the word have to say about unity? Can we have different opinions and views and still be united in Christ? As believers we are a unified whole - the "body" of Christ. As the body we are made up of many different parts and each part is absolutely essential and valuable. When we differ in our opinions or viewpoints we must base what we say on what the bible says regarding these issues. We must be workmen of the word. And, if and when we still disagree, we must still love and respect each other in Christ. Ephesians teaches us that we used to be at odds with others but, in Christ, we are one. This ONE thing is the temple, the actual dwelling place of Almighty God. Our foundation is the prophets (old testament) and the apostles (new testament) with the very cornerstone, the thing that joins it all and holds it all together, is Christ Himself. So keep your eyes on Christ and keep unity as your highest value and love will prevail as we stand as one in Christ.
